Drawing tablet mice

Overview

Drawing tablet mice look like standard wireless mouse that everyone uses today. However they only work on the surface of a drawing tablet. They were only made by Wacom and haven't been manufactured in a long time.

How these mice work

These mice are do not work like any other kind of mouse. In fact these mouse are actually "pens". In other words, they are simply different plastic shells around the same EMR internals that a pen uses.

Difference from normal mice

POWER

  • A normal mouse gets power from either batteries or via a USB cable connected to a computer.

  • Drawing tablet mice get their power transmitted to them by tablet - just like a drawing tablet pen.

CONNECTIVITY

  • Because they use EMR all of them are effectively "wireless" though they do NOT use BlueTooth or any other traditional wireless protocol.

AREA OF OPERATION

  • A normal mouse can work on any surface. A desk, cloth, etc.

  • A drawing tablet mouse ONLY works on the active area of the drawing tablet.
